| What went well during this vacation? (Please include in this section any activities which were noteworthy.) |
Aside from getting next to 0 work done and procrastinating a great deal, I had loads of fun, got what I wanted and saw awesome movies!
Being able to sleep until 9:30 every day, being able to stay up as late as I wanted every night, having free time, having only two assignments for school. I will note that I liked Into the Wild.
Having time to chill out and hang out with friends was probably the best part of the vacation.
Hmmmm.... Christmas was okay. I went to a jazz thing which was good. I went bowling and that was pretty fun. New Years was great! It's really my favorite holiday. And I think I am finally getting rid of my cough, so that's excellent. Also, making Christmas cookies was def. a high point, as was seeing my relatives. And I enjoyed not waking up until 11.
I got time to sleep which is very unusual.
I got to hang out with a girl I went to school with freshmen year and hadn't seen since. Could have been really awkward, but ended up being a lot of fun. Went skiing with Duncan McGovern at Sugarbush. Got free tickets. Got free Condo. Spent 30$ on gas. Hung out with/skied with a girl i canoed with this summer. It was Awesome. Went to Crotched in the rain. Had a bunch of fun. Landed cork five over the big boy. Skied with eli and walker. Got a cell phone. Got some goggles. gloves and more. Good christmas. Had 21 people for chrsitmas dinner. WEnt to Ragged. SKied 6 days so far, and planning on 2 more.
I had a lot of fun, got to hang out with friends and family, and got what I wanted for Christmas. I also managed to get a lot of website work done that I was behind on.
I was very happy to be able to spend time with my friends during vacation. It was really nice to be able to spend time with them without the stresses of homework and other commitments looming over. Being able to spend time outside was also wonderful, especially in the snow on New Year's Eve.
Movies, hot tubs, and shopping!
Noteworthy activities included Christmas... and for that matter the New Year. No seriously, if this thing is supposed to be, I had fun hangng out with some family friends and relatives i had not seen for some time. also, on my coming to my mother's house to use this computer, i had the honor to see my stepbrother Ellery... Thank You Mr O!
Reading Into The Wild was fantastic! I really enjoyed reading it. It was a nice break from Moby Dick. It was also fantastic that I could read whenever I wanted instead of 30 pages or so every night.
Well, I visited family on my mom's side for most of vacation in California. That was a lot of fun. I just back on thrisday night do the rest of the weekend im going to finish up 'Into the Wild' (great book by the way!) and hang with friends for New Year's.
Who could have imagined a better new years eve than reading into the wild, Thanks a lot MR. O.
You wouldn't believe this but I truly, truly, cleaned my room. I have never seen so much dust in my life, or so many spiders. It was so satisfying! I must admit, half the contents of my room are still stuffed into a bathtub down the hall because I was too lazy to put them anywehre else. other than that, my living area is superb.
| What could have gone better during this vacation? |
Did I mention the whole work thing? Yeah, I'll give that one two dollars
Even though I love vacations, this one was pretty boring. We didn't go anywhere or do anything. I basically sat around the house all day, waiting for something to happen.
Everything that went poorly over my vaca was not English related and I have no doubt that Mr.O or our English class could do anything about it. So, in other words, the reading was superb!
I lost Mr. o's portrait.
I probably could have used my time more wisely.
I still haven't gone snowboarding!!!!
I was sick for a few days of vacation, and that was a real damper.
I went to watch Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and there was a little girl who sat behind me and threw candy at my head, screamed because the movie was makng too much noise, and had to go Potty every time she ran out of candy to throw at me. My movie experience could have gone better if I had brought a tranquilizer. Sorry.
It could have been longer.
It rained too much. I got a cell phone. Ate too much. Rained some more. GOt cold and Icy. Rained more.
Nothing!
One thing that could have gone better for me was my sleeping pattern. I kept meaning to go to bed early, but never seemed to succeed. Instead of catching up on sleep, I either got less than usual or woke up so late in the morning that half of the day seemed wasted. It would have been nice to have woken up earlier each day, and enjoy each day more, but vacation was still a nice change of pace.
Quite honestly I don't think anything could have gone better during this vacation. It was great. Really great.
The weather in Cali was nice but when I got back it was horrid, plus I haven't had anything to do the last couple of days. BORING!
| Identity someone who inspired you during this vacation, someone who achieved something above and beyond expectations. |
!!!!! I was inspired by my sister Tory. Even though she is only eight, she is really fun. She painted me the most incredible lime-green frog piggy bank for Christmas. She is also a master in the art of Xmas cookies, inspiring me to strive for better and more fabulous cookies in the future. Also, Tory believes in Santa Claus.
I didn't really see anyone from class, so lets say Ben Stadellmann because he is great fun and helped me tune my guitar, McCandless because he is neato beyond words, oh well I spoke to Caroline, she goes beyond normal people because she is always there when you want to talk and very sympathetic, and my dad because he is cool no matter what
Me, dude. I was expecting to lie around on te couch and not see any one. Looks like achieved above and beyond. I also bought the sister i...don't get along with very well some really nice expensive presents. I felt like mr saintly.
My cousin ABDOMINALLY inspired me because of his sheer genius in the field of cinematography. He, single-handedly, created a basic plot outline for our movie, The Tale of the Abdominal Snowman, and supplied a brilliant costume for the Abdominal himself.
My friend Andrew for actually wanting to watch all 6 star wars movies in a row! Way to be!
My grandpa inspired me because of his strength and courage to bounce back so quickly and healthily from multiple different surgeries. He never complained about any pains, which really made me think about the times I have over-reacted about the litte things.
My mom and dad exceeded expectations this vacation by getting me some really nice Christmas gifts. Thanks guys!
My mother inspired me because she managed to stay positive almost 100 percent of vacation though things were hard for her and she was presented with some very negative circumstances.
My mother really inspired me this vacation by being loving, understanding, and an excellent hostess to the countless people who came over this week.
My parents inspired me during vacation. Their intense obsession with searching for colleges was remarkable, not to mention omnipresent. Whenever they saw one of my friends, they promptly began to ask about their plans for college, what type of college they planned to attend, and whether they had visited any colleges yet. Their devotion to learning about everyone's plans were unparalelled.
My sister inspired me. She took the time out of her vacation to spend time with me and bond.
Santa, how does he do it?
Santa.. I got a lot of presents. No really I was impressed with Father Lorring who, at age 80, came to my house from Mass.
Sarah Birkebak inspired me because I hung out with her over vaca and asked her if she had started reading yet. Even though her answer was no, she had a clear cut plan of when she was going to read. It really seemed like she had thought about her schedule and planned accordingly.

Please use this space to write things of praise about yourself based on your experiences during this vacations, things about which you are proud.
Already done, read the above. I was pretty fricken pround of that cork 5 though. Also the Christmas presents. and actually getting together with the people i wanted to see.
I am extremely proud of my ability to sit down and read the book. Usually when it comes to vacation I wait until the weekend before school starts to even open my back pack. I started reading Into The Wild on Friday afternoon and dove right into it. Because of my busy plans I didn't finish as quickly as I would have liked but I read a little bit everyday and really enjoyed it.
I am getting caluses on my fingers I think..and then I can play the guitar better yay! I am proud I had fun and did crazy stupid things..oo I wrote this kind of philosophy self pity thing and it made me feel relived and like a good writer.
I am proud of my ability to balance friends, family, and work this vacation. I spent a fairly equal time with each, which helped me feel more proportioned.
I am proud of my ability to make funny-shaped Xmas cookies. This year's batch was the best one yet.
I am proud of some of the artistic work I did over the vacation. Also that I made myself go to sleep before midnight- most nights.
I am proud that I finished everything that I needed to complete during vacation without a big rush at the end. For example, I finished reading Into the Wild about half way through the vacation, leaving plenty of time to write down and think about my quotes. I also wrote all of my thank you notes for holiday gifts today, rather than putting then off as long as possible as I normally might have done. Having a good work ethic over vacation reminded me of how nice it feels to be less of a procrasinator and have everything done.
I did an excellent job spending as little money as possible and still having fun. This has got to be a first.
I didn't get a single person a gift from Ocean State Job Lot this christmas!! I got a eighty point word in scrabble. I really read that book. I lost no money gambling. I didn't total my parents car.. like someone. I didn't get arrested... like someone. Crotched Mountain was so worried that I would sue them they sent me free tickets.
I found time to do the reading assignment.
I GOT MY DAD'S OLD CAR!!!!!!!!! ya ya ya shinga binga oooooh dance dance boogy boogy!
I thought I handled the busy holiday travelling well. If you have travelled with my dad you would know what I'm talking about. He makes situations more stressful than they should be, but I was able to stay calm and not let his antics affect me. I also made a great effort to speak in Spanish to my grandparents which I semi-successfully accomplished.
I worked both on Christmas day and New Years day and did not complain once.
I'm proud that I got Into the Wild read early on in vacation. I managed to avoid procrastinating, and found that I actually enjoyed the book very much.

I hope everyone had a great vacation!!!
I think I'll have a 'praise war' with my alter ego.
I'm going skarting!

My pug jill has a christmas bow. Also, Kelsey's Christmas Party was wicked sick-nasty. haha i just wanted Mr O to say sick-nasty... that was awesome huh? But seriously it was off the hook... hah got ya again
So i was thinking, lets all go camping.... field trip!
The party was a lot of fun on the last day!
TWO-THOUSAND AND SIX! This is a gift. You have a whole year-make it count!
Well I was going to put my 'ponders' but I don't want the whole class to laugh at me so instead Chuck Norris jokes: To prove it isn't that big of a deal to beat cancer. Chuck Norris smoked 15 cartons of cigarettes a day for 2 years and aquired 7 different kinds of cancer only to rid them from his body by flexing for 30 minutes. Beat that, Lance Armstrong. Chuck Norris' tears cure cancer. Too bad he has never cried. The chief export of Chuck Norris is pain. When Chuck Norris plays Oregon Trail his family does not die from cholera or dysentery, but rather roundhouse kicks to the face. He also requires no wagon, since he carries the oxen, axels, and buffalo meat on his back. He always makes it to Oregon before you. Chuck Norris once shot an enemy plane down with his finger, by yelling, 'Bang!' Chuck Norris does not have AIDS but he gives it to people anyway. and for the end, there is little doubt that Nathan or Sam will out do me so I will include a little philosophy. 'What is a weed? A plant whose virtues have not yet been discovered.' 'If you're not confused, you're not paying attention.' 'What is a friend? A single soul dwelling in two bodies.... '
